Add a New Billing Plan/Size Code

  1. Navigate to Financial Setup > Billing Plans > Add Billing Plan...

  2. The Billing Plan Info screen will open. Here’s a breakdown of the fields:

  • SKU: This determines what type of recurring charge this is: RENT, INSURANCE, UTILITIES, etc. 

  • Description: This is typically the dimensions and any attributes (Inside, Outside, etc.)

  • Price: The default price.

  • Billing Plan Frequency: Leave this as Every 1 Month(s) unless this is a specific circumstance in which it should be changed.

  • Prorate: Always leave as Yes. 

  • Active: If no units are assigned this Billing Plan, this can be changed to No. The Billing Plan will not be available anywhere else in the software. 

  • Show Advanced Controls: click here to see more options.

  • Currency: Leave as USD unless otherwise specified. 

  • Create Invoice: Leave as Yes. 

  • Suggest This Billing Plan to New Customers: Enabling this will add a list of “Suggested Billing Plans” to the New Tenant screen; this is useful for insurance/protection plans!

  • Auto Assign Billing Plan To Customer: Enabling this will assign the Billing Plan to ALL new move-ins; this is also useful for insurance/protection plans!

  • Default Discount for Billing Plan: Select a preconfigured discount that will be added at move-in. 

  • Show Plan on WebSite (API): Set this to Yes to include the Billing Plan in your online reservation/rental menu and/or through third party API integrations (e.g. Sparefoot). 

  • Show as Most Popular on Website (API): Set this to Yes to “feature” this Billing Plan. 

  • Web Price: Set a price specifically for online reservations/rentals. 

  • Web Discount: Select a discount to be added to all move-ins that started online. 

  • Web Description: More space to describe the Billing Plan. The large text box is displayed on the reservation menu. The two boxes below are used in the Unit Picker. 

  • Sort Order: Can be left as 0; this is used if you want to sort the Billing Plans in a certain order.
