Restricting Allowed Payment Method by Customer

DomicoCloud includes a feature that can limit the payment type that an account can accept. This can be useful for habitual check bouncers! The setup can be done by anyone in your organization with Co-Owner access, or you can request assistance from our Support team. 

1. Create a Custom Field

      System > Custom Fields > Add Field... 
      Configuration:
      Object: Customer
      Control Type: Drop Down
      Caption: Restrict Tenant Payment Method
            The Caption must match exactly; DomicoCloud is programmed to expect this exact name
      
     











      Properties:       
            Add Caption...

            

           Caption: No
            Icon: Leave as None
            Required Fields: None, skip this section
            Invalid: No
            Default: Yes

            Add another caption for "Yes"
            Caption: Yes
            Icon: Optional, the selected icon can be shown on the Tenant Search screen, as seen below:
                  
            Required Fields: None, skip this section
            Invalid: No
            Default: No

      Customer Visible: No
      Show on new customer form: No, unless you want the option to restrict them at move-in
      Show on Custom Overview: If Yes, the field will be shown below the unit:
            
      Customer Permission: Leave as is if "Customer Visible" = No
      Unique Value: No
      Require for New Customers: No
      Order: 1 (This dictates where the field appears on the User Info screen)
      Hide Custom Field: No

2. Add Company Option to the Company Set

      System > Company Sets 
      To enable this for all facilities, select the "All Companies" set > Edit Set... otherwise select the set for the facility
      Under the box labeled "Option:" click Add Option...
      From the "Name" drop down, select "Allowed Payment Types..." as shown below:
      
      In the "Value:" field, enter the payment types that ARE accepted for "restricted" tenants. The options are "Cash" "Check" "Bank Draft" and "Credit Card" . You can add any of them separated by commas They must be spelled correctly. 

3. Setting a Customer as Restricted

The field is found on the User Info General tab:



With that field set to Yes, DomicoCloud will hide the payment types NOT listed above for "restricted" customers:


Only "Cash" payments can be posted to this account.
